Protect Amador’s scenic beauty; historical, natural, and agricultural resources; and rural quality of life.

Goal: Protect the key scenic, natural, agricultural and historical assets that attract residents and visitors to our county and are key to our local quality of life.

Actions:

  • Support development of a citizen-driven community plan for the town of Volcano to protect its scenic beauty and historic resources.
  • Support the work of the Amador Fire Safe Council, Amador-Calaveras Consensus Group, Upper Mokelumne River Watershed Authority and others to make our forests healthier, our communities safer, and our economy stronger.
  • Actively engage local residents as the county develops and implements the town center plans for Pine Grove and Buckhorn.
  • Work with Farms of Amador, the Amador Farmers’ Market, local ranchers and farmers to increase the availability of healthful, locally grown food.
  • Ensure that the public has ample opportunity to weigh in on the state Wild and Scenic River Study for the Mokelumne River and upcoming National Forest Plan updates.
